At the Making Strides Walk 2013, the doctors and their patients from Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, PC come together to support each other and to raise awareness about breast cancer. The annual walk has grown every year, and now has over 1,000 participants. Former patients talk about how grateful they are for the support from their doctors, family, and friends.
Female Voice: Good morning everyone. It's a celebration of life; we have a beautiful day, and wonderful day of sisterhood, and family support, and it's great to be part of this incredible practice.
Male Voice: And it's my pleasure to welcome you once again to the 2013 American Cancer Society's Making Strides against Breast Cancer Walk at Jones Beach. We've been doing this for about 13 years, and the reason I know that is Loretta here is one of our originals, when there were only six or seven of us in the parking lot. We couldn't find each other. And as you can see from our tent, we have about 1,000 of our patients and their family and friends. And this is a fun day for everybody; it's really a celebratory event.
Male Voice: I know we've been here for many years. Honestly, it would be ideal if we didn't need to be here. If there was a cure and we didn't need to really be doing what we do. But until then, we'll be here every year supporting this cause, and I think we're going to have a great day walking, again, as usual this year.
Male Voice: It always is a great experience. It just shows us the big picture. It's a great turn out to see what a difference it makes, and you know, to see how patients are thriving after a diagnosis of breast cancer.
Male Voice: To be at an event like this today, to see everyone come together and to show their support and their strength, is really inspiring. And it makes me very happy about what I do for a living, and also the choice that I've made to come along with Dr. Feingold, and Israeli, and Korn.
Female Voice: We are happy to have brought the biggest number of kids that we've ever had from Hampton Bays. And we love Dr. Israeli and all that he does for the cause, and every woman who needs his help. And, he saved my life, so thank you.
Female Voice: Look! I have boobies by Feingold, Israeli, Korn, and our new fellow, Dr. Delight.
Female Voice: So thankful, thank you so much that I'm here to live.
Female Voice: Dr. Feingold is an incredible plastic surgeon, and more importantly, he was so supportive, and so wonderful to myself and my husband. And I am completely indebted to him and his office, and I really love him.
Female Voice: Happy five-years survivor to me! I'm surrounded by all my wonderful family and friends who support me every single day. I love you all.
Female Voice: I'm so happy to be here today with my incredible reconstructive surgeon. So excited to be here, and just to see him, and just to spread the love and support. I'm very, very, very proud to be a survivor.
